Welcome to Olanta

Welcome to Olanta: Home of the BEARCATS!

A small town tucked away in the southwestern part of Florence County where the roads lead to endless opportunities. We are home to an estimated 570 residents who overflow with friendliness, charm, and caring attitudes.  In a short drive one can walk the sands of Myrtle Beach, enjoy a picnic lunch at Lynches River Park, or jump on Interstate 95 and head to Columbia.   On a warm, spring day with the windows down, one can hear the cheering of fans from the stands of a rivalry baseball game.  Olanta’s home of the famous Gator Festival where locals and visitors enjoy live band performances, a street dance, a variety of market vendors, a petting zoo, carnival rides, and eateries.  Olanta’s known for its agriculture which is a rich thread to the fabric of the community where local farmers compete each year at the town’s annual Collard Cook Off.   Olanta prides itself in being a small town with a big town heart.
